SWaP Me SPoRTS... A FeeL GooD SToRY

Tara Griggs wasn't trying to improve your community on the warm spring day she decided to clean out the garage of her Simsbury, Connecticut, home, but, fate has a funny way of popping into one's life.

Stymied by a pile of rarely used sports equipment, she did not want to merely throw away, and the inevitable question of "What am I gonna do with all this crap?". And, after getting the same kind of responses from friends, Tara decided to re-purpose the pile of, in-good-condition, used sports equipment in to an idea called Swap Me Sports, a website that would be a safe environment for one-and-all to join and buy, sell, trade, or donate, their no longer needed sports equipment.
In a recent Hartford Magazine interview, Tara explaned,  "I knew we could do it... strengthenng the idea of sports unifyng the communities." And, then, in August, the national brand Clorox approached her, via Facebook message, about joning forces to help prevent MRSA, with NBA star Grant Hill, who nearly died from the bacterial infection, workng as spokesperson. The magic of swapmesports.com took the big stage on September 13, 2010, in a press conference held in New york, along with Clorox and Grant. It was a special moment of validation for Tara and everyone involved with Swap Me Sports.
